Original Japanese triptych Woodblock Print by Utagawa Kunisada.
1854.
Depicting Prince Genji & Lady Asagao watching three girls marking a snow rabbit below the winter moon. The scene shows the chapter "Asagao" from "The Tale of Genji" written by the court lady Murasaki Shikibu in the 11th century.
The print was a cooperative work by the two most prolific artists at the time, Utagawa Kunisada I & Ando Hiroshige I. Kunisada created the figures whilst Hiroshige created the background landscapes.
Supplied in a Matt Black Wooden Frame
