These antique Chinese side tables (sold separately) are made from red elm (jumu) and would have been used as stools or side tables. The style is classic in Jiangsu province, an area that predominantly uses red elm. Red elm (also known as 'zelkova' or 'southern elm') is considered a superior wood to yumu, its northern cousin.
There are 4 pieces available, sold seperately. They have been sympathetically restored in our Wiltshire workshops and have a beautiful patina.
