Marble Top Chukki Coffee Table
The iconic Indian grinder table is our modern take on the old Indian rice mill known colloquially as a chakki. Constructed from sustainable mango wood, we've given this traditional Indian round coffee table an Italian twist by adding a classic 15mm white marble top.
Chakki tables are repurposed teak rice grinding mills from villages in Rajasthan or Gujarat. Originally used with quern stones for grinding wheat or other grains. There is normally a small door at the side for the flour to come out. The Hindi name for these hand operated mills is 'Chakki' or 'Chukki.'
