Vintage Indian Lassi Cup - Ca 1900

Vintage Indian Lassi Cup - Ca 1900

These old Indian lassi cup are from North India and are made from nickel plated brass. Each one has its own hand etched Mughal design.  They date back to the early 20th century, circa 1920.

Lassi is a delicious Indian & Pakistani drink made from yogurt. It can be drunk both sweet (meethi lassi) and salty (namkeen lassi) and is most often flavoured with mango or herbs and spices like fennel. Occasionally lassi is laced with bhang (hashish) - especially at the Spring Holi festival time.
