Vintage Brass Chevrolet Paan Box - Ca 1930
A brass box in the shape of a 1930's Chevrolet 'Chevy' car. The top opens to store cigarettes or paan, a preparation, which combines a paste of spices in a betel leaf. It is chewed for its stimulant and psychoactive effects.
This particular design follows the design of the earlier Chevrolet Series AD Universal which came onto the market in 1930. It is far less common than the majority of car boxes which are made in the style of 1940's Chevrolet. This particular example is lovely as it has retained its original stained glass windows.
