Painted Long Mirror From Gujarat - 19th Century
This ornately carved teak mirror is repurposed from a 19th-century Indian door from Gujarat. Once part of a grand architectural doorway, the frame has been sensitively adapted and fitted with modern mirror glass while preserving its historic character.
The weathered blue and brown paintwork reveals generations of layered colour and wear, creating a beautifully aged surface. The lower panel is intricately carved with scrolling foliate motifs surrounding a moustached face, an auspicious symbol sometimes used in Rajasthani & Gujarati architecture to protect the home.
