Reclaimed Teak Coffer With Painted Finish

This Indian rustic storage coffer is crafted from reclaimed teak, repurposed with care to evoke the soulful charm of antique Indian furniture. The central panelled doors are salvaged from a recessed wall cabinet originally found in Rajasthan, retaining their original forged hinges and locking bar. Surrounding them, hand-applied layered paintwork and cast iron straps lend a richly textured, rustic surface €” full of depth, wear, and subdued colour.

While newly assembled, the piece draws on heritage techniques and materials to channel a grounded, wabi-sabi sensibility. Whether used for storage or as a decorative console, it brings sculptural weight and history-forward craftsmanship into a contemporary interior.
