This beautifully carved mirror is made from an old Indian window frame from the area of Shekhawati in northern Rajasthan. Shekhawati is famed for its beautiful architecture and decorative carvings framed by lacquer beating. The mihrabs in Shekhawati have their own distinct style however you can see the influence of the Mughal style. Shekhawati architecture is often made from teak however this is made using roheda.
