Sindoor dani were used for holding valuable spices and powders. Sindoor translates from Hindi as 'vermillion' and the word 'dani' to 'compartment.'

This piece is especially lovely as it has its original rich red vermillion inside. The lid is adorned with parrots & peacocks. It can be used to store small trinkets, or used as a decorative curiosity.
