Engraved Glass Hundi Lantern With 3 Way Fitting - Grapes

Harkening back to the simpler times of the 19^th century, our glass handi pendant lights radiate light through your home. 

Each lamp is skillfully hand blown by skilled artisanal glass blowers and then etched by hand. They're wired & tested by our team in the UK.

These glass lamps are known in India as handis or hundis and the name originated from the similarity in shape to a cooking pot. This style of pendant originated in Europe and was exported to India as lighting for large homes and palaces in the 19^th century candles or oil lamps would have been placed inside with a glass lid to prevent soot from marking the ceiling. Many survived on the tall ceilings unlike their European counterparts which were taken down and smashed when electricity arrived.
