
Low Chinese Kang Cabinet From Gansu - 19thC
This very useful low cabinet is made from cypress and dates from the late 19th century.
These were used beside or at the end of the Kang which was a raised platform used as a bed or lounging area in wealthy homes.
Often, kangs were made from stone which was heated from underneath in the winter.
Ideal for use beneath a T.V or sound system.
