Indian Large Ganesh Mirror From Andhra Pradesh - 19th Century
This ornately carved antique Indian teak mirror is made from an original Indian door frame from Andhra Pradesh. A carved Ganesh (Hindu elphant god) sits respendent in the centre of the lintel. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles and blesses every home to make the day to day lives of occupants easier. The mirror frame is decorated with iconic lotus flowers and flowing vines with elephant and peacock carvings at the base. Two large corbels at the top add yet more grandeur to this already impressive mirror.
The door frame dates to the 19th century and has been adapted and fitted with modern mirror glass. As these doors are reclaimed from buildings they're also environmentally friendly.
This mirror is designed to be hung portrait or used as a leaner mirrror. This heavy mirror should be securely fixed to the wall. Brackets for wall mounting can be supplied on request. It cannot be disassembled so please check access before ordering.
