
Ganesh Lintel Panel From Gujarat - 19th Century
This carved antique Indian panel was used as a lintel above a doorway to a home. It was salvaged from a building fallen into disrepair in Gujarat and made from Rosewood . It depicts Ganesh in the centre flanked by deep floral carvings interweaving with Shiva's trishul (trident) - a Hindu protection symbol. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles and blesses every home to make the day to day lives of occupants easier.
This particular piece dates from the 19th century and would look fabulous on a wall or above a mantle.
Supplied fitted with wall hangers.
