This ornately carved blue painted Indian mirror is made from an original Indian door from Gujarat. At the top of the door, you can see Ganesh, the Hindu elephant god, and the remover of obstacles.
The door frame dates to the 19th century and has been adapted and fitted with modern mirror glass. Antique Indian door frames like this are reclaimed from derelict buildings in Andhra Pradesh. Sadly these buildings are beyond restoration having been subjected to years of decay. We are preserving these treasures for future generations.
This mirror is designed to be hung portrait or used as a leaner mirror.
