Chinese Bedside Cabinet From Dongbei - Ca 1900
This compact antique Chinese bedside cabinet is from Dongbei in Northern China. Its antique pine wood has been bleached by the sun over many years in a similar way to driftwood and would work equally well in a bedroom as a bedside cabinet or in a study or smaller room.
Crafted at the turn of the century, circa 1900. The all wood locking system is classic of the Dongbei style. The area of Dongbei (now Manchuria) borders North Korea - Dong means East - Bei means North.
