Baiga Tribal Panel From Chhattisgarh - 19th Century

This hand-carved panel originated in Central India, Chhattisgarh and is from the Baiga tribe. These local communities have a deep connection to nature, which is reflected in their artworks. This panel 

This panel showcases two stylized carved animals - a horse or tiger on the top and a large feline on the bottom. Sturdy hangers are found on the back.
