Brass Bound Teak Military Chest (Etched MacDonald) - 19th Century

This antique brass bound Anglo-Indian campaign chest dates to the 19th century and is a great size for a coffee table. Military chests were used by officers of the British Indian Army to carry their kit and personal possessions whilst on tour, they were made to order and had to withstand a lot of punishment in transit.

It is constructed from beautifully patinated teak wood and has its original brass fittings and handles. As well as these, this piece still retains the etched name-plate of a previous owner 'MacDonald'. The interior consists of one large space.
