Carved Teak Architectural Panel With Horses - 19thC

Carved Teak Architectural Panel With Horses - 19thC

This carved Indian architectural horse panel is a lintel which would have been used above a doorway to a home. It has been salvaged from a building fallen into disrepair in the desert state of Gujarat,

As is characteristic of this style of panel, two carved horses can be seen framed by carved peacocks. The aqua green/blue paint on this piece helps fit this piece into a bathroom as a hangar. This particular piece dates from the 19th century and would look fabulous on a wall or above a mantle piece.

Supplied fitted with wall hangers.
