This elegant elm console table comes from Shanxi Province and has all its original drawers & fittings. Over time it has developed a wonderful rich patina. It comes with all the usual marks expected on a table with such a long life.
Chinese console tables like these were used for entertaining guests on arrival - usually with a chair placed on either side for the guest and the host. Today they make perfect small tables for hallways or smaller rooms.
