2 Tier Indian Vintage Brass Tiffin Box Set - Ca 1930
Tiffin boxes, or Dabba are a traditional Indian style of lunch box used for carrying small snacks & meals, particularly lunches. Indian Tiffin boxes now make for great jewellery storage or for food presentation. They can also be used as table ornaments.
This particular piece has a lovely story as there is Hindi writing on each compartment with the names of the husband on one compartment and the name of the wife on the other. They clearly lunched together regularly. Truly romantic.
As our Tiffin boxes are vintage dating between 50 & 150 years old, they usually have some small marks and dents from original use which adds to their character. For individual condition see our photos.
